At Home Freelancer

This is just going to be a quick hello to everyone. I am now home from the hospital and will be resuming my search for a work from home job. It will have to be something that does not require me to pay anything upfront for now. Maybe in the future I will be able to change that. Right now finances are quite tight and now that I have had the revision surgery on my right hip I am hopeful that that will soon change. I hopefully will heal quickly and be able to actually get outside the house to look for work. For now though I will still be putting in time looking for work from home options, although I may not be spending the amount of time sitting at the computer that I used to because I am not supposed to have my hip in one position for more than 45 minutes at a time. As this is my first day back on the computer I have not really had time to search for work, I have been busy cleaning out emails etc. and as a result I do not have much to report about in that area. So everyone have a great day! I must now sign off the computer.

I am going in for revision surgery on my right hip tomorrow, so this will be my last post for awhile. I am supposed to be in the hospital 4-6 days and after that I am not sure how long it will be before I will be able to sit up long enough to do much on the computer.  So today I spent some time looking for more writing or blogging tips and in an effort to try as many of the tips that I find as I can, I signed up for twitter today in an effort to increase readership on my blog. I have also recently signed up for delicious-a bookmarking network. So I will see how these two help to bring in readers.

I have had a busy day today. A couple of weeks before Christmas I applied for some freelance blogging jobs. I got a reply today from one site that wanted me to blog about Dressing for the Outdoors on my blog. So I did that today. I posted this to My Random Thoughts blog.

I also found a way to generate income using Homepages Friends from yahoo. This allows me to make Homepages Friends my home page and then pays me for regular searches I do through the day. I am not sure how much income this will lead to but I thought it was simple to do and I do internet searches anyway so why not get paid.

The other day I mentioned alternatives to adsense for generating income through blogging. One of the tips included “Money from Blogs”. Well I signed up with them and today I heard back and my two other blogs were approved. So today I set these ads up on those blogs. This really did not take me very long to do and hopefully it will generate a decent income.

So I have spent a great deal of time today writing and now I fear it is time to take a break and get away from this computer screen.

Today being Sunday I thought it might be a good idea to do a week in review. We have brought in a New Year and with it some plans to change things maybe even make some resolutions. My plans tend to lean toward streamlining in the New Year. Do more article writing, blogging, and spend less time on ptc sites. I gave some tips on writing and earning money from blogs. One day I even stretched a little and gave a brief blurb about an article I had read about the demise of brick and stone bookstores compared to online booksellers. In this article the author feels guilty about buying a book online for $0.25, comparably less than he would have spent for the same book in a downtown bookstore. Also this week I have been practicing with using links in my blogging and articles that I write. So all in all it has been not to bad a week. Here’s to a great week next week.

During my search for ways to make money from home, or tips on how to write, I came across some very interesting sites. Two sites I found offered writing tips. One offered tips on building a portfolio. I had not given much thought to this, but as I now have several articles published through Triond and Associated Content, this might be worthwhile looking into. The other site offered a glimpse into why lists can be important to a writer. I know that there are days that I have a hard time trying to write or I think I have nothing to write about and I believe that making a list might help to improve this process.

I also came across two sites that offered tips to bloggers who want to use their blogs to generate income. The first site offered an alternative to adsense. On this site there are actually a list of ten different ways to generate income from blogging or writing. The last site I found offered an alternative to easyhits4u.

As I was trying to come up with something to post about today, I started to think about some of the tips I have received about blogging for money. One tip was to find the top search trends through Google or Yahoo and blog about it. This will hopefully increase readership on your blog, which is what you should be striving for.

Well I tried this and here are some of the things I found for Google: top searches here were based on nothing. Well that is terrific! So much for statistics.

On Yahoo I could not find anything interesting (at least to me) on top searches but I did come across an interesting blog by typing in “ top yahoo blogs” into my yahoo search bar: . So even though it seems like this was a waste of my time, it did provided me with something to blog about. Happy Blogging!

A new year starts today and with it hopes of a better, kinder, more prosperous year than the one before it. I am sure I am not alone in wanting these things. Although last year may not have been as bad as it seems, I did learn some new things and started some interesting projects.

Oneof those projects was article writing. As I was searching for tips and or tricks to creating income through article writing I came across a rather daunting fact about Triond. You have to submit about 10 articles a day to make a decent income from this site. I don’t know how true that is, but it does answer the question about the grade of articles I have come across there. I do try to look at 2-3 articles posted on each site that I have joined and sometimes the articles on Triond look as if they have been slapped together quickly. I will still submit articles to this site, but it will not be the 10 articles a day that was suggested. I don’t know how much readership my articles will generate but I am hopeful that at least they will be written well.
