At Home Freelancer

To achieve we need to set goals. Many people strive to reach their goals within a set time frame. Wikipedia offers this definition of goals http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Objective_(goal)#Personal_goals.

If I were to make a goal to acquire a good part-time income from my blogs and article writing what would my goal look like. My mission statement might look like this:  I want to focus on my article writing for Triond and Associated Content. I also want to find a way to drive traffic to my blogs and get paid for the 1000 clicks that I need to get in order to get paid from AdSense and entrecard, etc. within the next 3 months.

Here I have made a definite statement and time frame. It does not matter that the time frame is not feasible or I can’t accomplish my entire goal in such a short time. If I need to I can always go back and revisit my goal and make changes where necessary.

To attain success with our goals we need to use determination and focus. Merriam-Webster dictionary offers this definition of determination http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/determination. So if I have set a goal and have decided firmly what I want to accomplish I should be successful in my endeavours. Yes I may need to take another look at my goal at some point in time and determine if I need to rework it, but at least I will have been working toward something in the end.

Well I have once again been published on Triond. You can take a look at what I have done on my “Links to other Interests” page. I have been trying to keep up with my blogging as well as doing articles and poems for Triond. The poems I have been submitting are my own creation so I have been feeling pretty good about this.

While I have been looking for something for this blog I found a couple of sites that you might be interested in taking a look at. The first site, Issuu.com, lets you collect, share and publish. They boast that they will make your documents “look their very best”. The web address for this site is http://issuu.com/.

The next site, Scribd.com, boasts 50 million readers and 50,000 new writings uploaded daily. It also shows you what others are reading now. The web address for this is http://www.scribd.com/. If you get a chance to look at these sites or know anything about them please let me know what they are like and how they are. There was a third site that I looked at-it is a novel writing course for those who believe they are an aspiring novelist. Just wanted to say thank you to all of you who have commented on my recent blogs. On one of my more recent blogs I asked about brain rewiring and if you would use it to cure depression or not. I found some that thought we should alleviate depression in anyway we can and those that, although they did not know much about it, were definitely against it. You can still weigh in on this topic.

I would still like to hear from anyone who is or has used entrecard. I am going to try it, because it is a way to earn $$$, but I would still like some information on what you think about it.

I am always on the lookout for some way to create income using my blogs. I need to be creative and be willing to try different things as a result I recently decided to try entrecard. I am not sure how this will work, but I am willing to give it a try. If anyone else is using entrecard please let me know how you have found it.

I also spent some time today updating “My Links To Other Interests” page to add another posting I have on Triond. I have not had much time for article writing but did manage to get one off to Triond.

Even though blogging and article writing don’t seem to be bringing in an abundance of $$$ it does give me something to do everyday. Between reading other peoples blogs, leaving comments, and trying to find something to write an article on I seem to be filling a lot of time during the day.

This weekend I spent some time looking through some of my magazines for some inspiration on what I could write about on my blogs. I have been feeling a little depressed with trying to find a work from home gig, and although I like writing, and blogging seems to allow me an outlet for this I am finding out that unless you spend an exorbitant amount of time doing this your income will not be much. I found an article which was quite interesting for me. It dealt with brain rewiring as a technique for curing depression. Known as rTMS this essentially rearranges the pathways of the brain by using magnets. I am not really fond of the idea of using drugs for depression so I am not sure I would ever try this. The article does state that they only use brain rewiring in cases where the depression is great and has not responded to drug therapies. They also can use rTMS for everything from strokes to depression. Brain rewiring also seems to be very expensive, one patient pays $8400.00 per year.

Has anyone else ever heard of this technique? Would you try it? Leave me a comment and let me know what your views are on this.

I find myself becoming a bit tired of the constant struggle to find a work from home job. I know that in a earlier post I mentioned streamlining myself and putting more effort into writing articles and working on my blogs. Somehow though I am finding myself losing faith in my capabilities and becoming depressed, so I went searching for inspiration and I found a couple of websites that offered just that.

You may find something of interest on one of these sites. The one that I will for sure go back to is beckysscamreview. Suite101.com is looking for freelance writers. They have a form you need to fill out so be prepared to let them know about your background in writing.

I was not just looking at interesting sites today though. I looked into the email response I got from my craigs list resume. It was for prepaid legal and you guessed it they are asking for money for me to work for them. Right now my finances are very tight and unless they give me the money upfront I can’t accept there position.

Well, I had to take a bit more of a break. Apparently I was not as ready as I thought I was to get back on the computer. Along with this I lost my Internet connection, so when I was able to sit and write I did not have access to my computer. I will be resuming my search for a work from home position a bit more regularly now.

Before I went in for my surgery I had placed my resume on Craig’s List, just to see what would happen. The resume does stipulate that I am looking for a work from home gig. I have had a few responses, but unfortunately they were looking for someone to come into their office and they did not have an office in the area where I live. I did get an email that I responded to yesterday, it sounds hopeful, but I believe I have heard about this company before. I will need to take a look at the information they were emailing me today. I believe that they are going to ask me for money to start up. If they do than I may need to decline their offer. I will also need to take a look at my resume on Craig’s List and see if I can refine it somehow so that only those who are looking to pay me need to respond to the resume. So I guess that posting your resume on Craig’s List could be a way of finding a work from home position.

Other than this I have not really been doing much other than recuperating. Today I may need to look at what my Triond and Associated Content accounts are doing. Well have a great day everyone! And it is great to be back.
